Starting today, this weekend, August 11 – August 13, is Texas’s annual Sales Tax Holiday! Every year, Texans save millions of dollars on common school supplies and school clothes. Footwear and backpacks are also exempt from taxation this weekend, but not specialty items such as cleats or football pads. Items over $100, even if they’re on the tax exempt list, still have sales tax, however.

Don’t want to go to the store? The tax-free weekend applies to online shopping, or purchases over the phone or through the mail. Plus, you can use a layaway plan to take advantage of the tax-free discount on bigger purchases if money is tight.

Even if you don’t have kids, you could still pick up some useful items are a discount, like tennis shoes, swim suits, jogging attire, cowboy and hiking boots, ties, bras and even more! Check out the list here for sundry clothing items available on sale this weekend!
